MY STORY

I wrote my first novel at age twelve and it was about as excellent as you would expect a direct rip-off of Tamora Pierce and Patricia Wrede to be. It remains unfinished.

That said, the through line of my work over time has been an exploration of the inner worlds women build to survive, and the power that grows when we start naming what’s been unnamed. Some of my favorite authors include Katherine Arden, Sally Rooney, and Rufi Thorpe.

I live in Richmond, VA with my husband, kids and cats. I studied Religious Studies and Anthropology at the University of Virginia, and then earned my masters degree in Education from the College of William and Mary. I’ve taught language arts, theatre, and advanced writing.
