I wrote my first novel at twelve. It was an unabashed rip-off of Tamora Pierce and Patricia Wrede, and it remains unfinished.
The work since then has been more deliberate, more interested in what lies below the surface. I'm drawn to myth not as backdrop but as argument: what does it mean that we keep telling these stories? What do they let us believe, and what do they let us avoid? My work explores consciousness, identity, and inherited narrative — the stories we're handed and the cost of carrying them.
I live in Richmond, Virginia with my husband, kids, and cats. Some of my favorite authors: Katherine Arden, Sally Rooney, Rufi Thorpe.
